CARE International pursues four interconnected lines of activity in order to fulfill its mission and progress towards its vision;

> > Development and rehabilitation that addresses the underlying causes of poverty and social injustice;
> > Influencing policy development and implementation at all levels to make significant positive changes in the lives of poor, vulnerable or marginalized people;

> > Emergency responses that provide rapid and effective support to victims of disasters;
> > Building diverse constituencies that support CARE International’s vision and mission in all countries where we work.

CARE's projects either

 > > respond to immediate humanitarian need arising from disaster

 > > or focus on underlying causes of poverty and discrimination that threaten the lives of the poor in the long term.

CARE seeks lasting solutions and improvements by working closely with the people it serves, and in partnership with local groups and organizations.

CARE's approach to poverty and discrimination means that its programs deal with a wide range of social and economic issues such as: health; basic girl’s education; social protection; economic and social rights, food security; economic activity development; agriculture and natural resource management; water and sanitation; HIV/AIDS; and local capacity building.
