Main Responsibilities:

CARE Egypt is seeking to identify consultants to assist with developing and writing project proposals for submission to donors.  Focus areas include gender equity and women’s rights, livelihood opportunities for rural communities, basic education, and good governance. Accordingly, CARE- Egypt seeks to hire consultant(s) to undertaken short-term proposal development assignments. His/ her key activities will be as follows:

• Lead on the proposal development of the funding application in question in consultation with senior CARE staff. This will include;

a.   Ensuring consistency with any Concept Note previously submitted to the donor as well as donor guidelines.

b.   Identifying information necessary for proposal development.

c.   Meeting with relevant parties, including proposed partners & developing project objectives, approaches, activities & goals, including roles & responsibilities of partners.

d.   Based on this, facilitate & ensure finalization of the project design with support of senior programme staff in CARE Egypt, ensuring that CARE policies and principles are followed.

e.   Organize / facilitate workshop/field meetings if need be.

f.    Write up of the proposal according to donor guidelines and sector best practices, including a Logical Framework.

• Delivery of drafts for comment by CARE Egypt staff.
• Delivery of the final proposal addressing comments to CARE Egypt.

 Qualifications :

• Excellent program design and proposal writing skills and experience of writing proposals for submission to institutional donors.

• Familiarity with the issue of gender equality.

• Excellent research and analysis skills.
