Support to Agricultural Networks in Egypt (SANe) 
January 2007- June 2009


 


SANe
contribute to equitable poverty eradication and natural resources conservation and sustainable livelihoods of small-scale farmers from the poorest communities in Qena, Sohag and Fayoum in Uppper Egypt.
 

 

SANe  benefits 15,000 small- scale farmers (men and women), and small- scale input traders and their families.

 

SANe  build the institutional and financial capacity of  three Agricultural Networks through training, on-going Technical Assistance, support and networking , so that they are better able
to serve their constituents. 

 
   

Three Agricultural Networks will have a pivotal role in : 
 


Improving livelihoods 

 

Promoting natural resources conservation Advocating Rights Influencing Agricultural polices

 

The Networks should be able to

  • Conduct advocacy initiatives on behalf of their constituents;

  • Represent women farmers by activating local women groups;

  • Form network-level Women Committees to participate in the leadership of the Networks;

  •  Support women advocacy initiatives;

  • Provide services to members;

  • Facilitate access to government extension services.

 

 

SANe builds on three years of experience from SAFE Project.
