Salama & Karama

Picking up from where others ended

Identifying  networks and stakeholders working
on women rights

Picking up from where others ended,
Karama started  with identifying other efforts, projects, and networks that has worked in the same field to help  build on and integrate their efforts.

The situational analysis Study

Salama & Karama conducted a  participatory situational analysis of women status in local communities on the governorate level to come up with  violence against women main issues and  to identify key advocacy messages. The Study involved community members and the analysis  revealed the most common forms, harmful practices of domestic violence , issues related to women rights , and the legislative gaps related to domestic violence which affect the whole family status in  local communities.

Intermediary Organization selection

One of the project specific goals is to build
the capacity of  intermediary organization so that  in turn they build the capacity of 10 civil society organizations per governorate to be able to provide psycho-social support & assistance to women affected by violence. The project is finalizing the process of selecting the Intermediary organizations,  setting the criteria for selecting the villages and civil society organizations.

  • Selection of village, and civil society organizations.

  • Conducting mapping exercise with community members and setting village plans.

  • Identifying advocacy issues on the local and national levels.

  • Identifying Case studies and documenting it.

  • Analyzing Advocacy issues.
