1- Education Manuals and Tools

Advancing girl's education is one of CARE Egypt's key programmatic areas. The first part is made of two easy to use manuals on how to raise community awareness on the importance of education and how to determine the education needs within a given community. The second part is the documentation of CARE Egypt's Community Action in Support of Education project (CASE) and CARE Egypt's experience with the "Concept Mapping" in illiteracy classes.

2- CARE Egypt's Experience in Water and Sanitation

Access to clean water is one of the basic human rights. During the last 50 years some of CARE Egypt's projects worked to ensure that more and more people are enjoying this right. This manual highlights some of the major lessons learned and recommendations drawn from three of CARE Egypt's water and sanitation and/or environmental projects, namely Community Action For the Environment (CAFE), Capacity Enhancement through Citizen Action (CAP), and Integrated Development with Emphasis on Water and Sanitation (ALIVE). 3- How to Determine Health Needs in the Community

Recognizing the importance of health as a key component for sustainable development of communities, this tool provides concrete steps on how to conduct a survey to assess specific health needs, how to analyze research results and how to design required interventions to address key health problems. 4- How to Conduct Awareness Campaigns

Raising community awareness about an issue is the first step to ensuring community participation and ownership in addressing development concerns, and in proposing ways by which community members can be ambassadors of change within their communities. 5- Business Planning and Monitoring and Evaluation of Microfinance Projects

Microfinance projects help provide job opportunities and raise people's income. The Business Planning tool is the backbone of any microfinance program as it allows organizations interested in starting a microfinance program to plan the most suitable financial framework required for it's funding program. The monitoring and evaluation allows organizations to improve their performance and expand their activities.

6- Household Livelihood Security (HLS) Manual

The household Livelihood Security Framework is a theoretical framework used to diagnose and analyze community needs and allows for more targeted interventions. This framework was used as a model and piloted in CARE Egypt's Capability Enhancement through Citizen Action project. The HLS manual is designed for trainers and development professionals who wish to use this analytical framework to design community interventions.

7- Marketing and Exporting of Agricultural Crops

Eligibility and access to marketing opportunities of agriculture crops represents a critical opportunity that enable individuals to increase their incomes. This manual provides guidance to small farm holders and Community Development Associations (CDAs) interested in better understanding market requirements and meeting national and international exporting standards. 8- Organizational Development Tool

The Rapid Organizational Assessment is a comprehensive tool that helps assess the capacity of organizations in a number of critical areas of operation, and to propose interventions that allow organizations to meet these gaps through capacity building and institutional strengthening initiatives. Ultimately, the tool is designed to help improve organizational performance and increase the effectiveness and outreach of CDAs within their communities.
